We are thrilled to announce our launch in the Town of Blackfalds as the sole provider of e-scooters. From May 15, 35 e-scooters will be available to rent, providing locals and visitors with a safe and sustainable way to travel. With successful operations in Red Deer and across Alberta, Blackfalds becomes Neuron’s 14th Canadian location to embrace our safety-first e-scooters. 

Neuron’s e-scooter programs are proven to reduce congestion, improve air quality, as well as help boost the local economies. Since July 2021, our riders in Red Deer have traveled 480,000 km and 43% of trips replaced a car journey, avoiding 33 tonnes of CO2 emissions to date. Neuron’s e-scooter program is also well placed to support Blackfalds’ economy as demonstrated in Red Deer where seven in 10 trips result in a purchase at a local business, amounting to an estimated $2.5 million spent each year.

Neuron partners with the Traffic Injury Research Foundation (TIRF) to promote e-scooter safety and research in Canada. Users can visit our online riding school, ScootSafe Academy, for their local riding rules and earn free credits for future rides. Our Safety Ambassadors will also be out in greater numbers at key areas of the town to equip new riders with the confidence to safely ride and park our vehicles.

Riders will also benefit from a range of cutting-edge safety features including: world’s first integrated helmets; voice guidance; topple detection; a 911 emergency button which detects if a rider has had a fall and then helps them call the emergency services via their smartphone, and a ‘Follow my Ride’ function for added peace of mind. Advanced geofencing technology will also control where e-scooters are ridden and parked, and how fast they can travel in certain areas.

From May 12, 100 distinctive orange e-scooters will be available to rent to cover key tourism and recreational attractions.
