Another launch – hello Adelaide!

After months of careful planning with the City of Adelaide’s team, our distinctive orange e-scooters - already proven in Brisbane, Darwin and Auckland - are due to hit Adelaide’s pavements tomorrow!

The 800-strong fleet, currently going through pre-deployment checks in our warehouse, have been purpose-built for sharing and safety. They will give Adelaide’s riders an extra level of confidence as they whizz around the city.

All e-scooters will be equipped with exciting new safety features including the world’s first app-controlled Helmet Lock. The lock secures a safety helmet to the e-scooter between bookings, electronically releasing it to use at the start of the trip. This cool new feature was designed to reduce the number of lost and abandoned helmets and make them more available to safety-conscious riders.

Also featured is the new Emergency Button which sends a notification to the rider’s phone asking ‘Are you alright?’ if the e-scooter detects a fall during a trip. Riders can respond by selecting ‘I’m alright’ or ‘I need emergency assistance’ at the touch of a button. If the latter is selected a call is placed directly to the local emergency services.

Download our user-friendly app, from the App Store or Google Play and set it up in a matter of minutes. A solo trip will cost AU$1 to unlock the e-scooter and then 38 cents per minute. Riding enthusiasts can buy Neuron Passes, our new subscription service, available in three-day (AU$25), weekly (AU$33), or monthly (AU$89) options. Users can ride to their hearts’ content for up to 90 minutes per day for an affordable price, generating savings of up to 90%.

It’s great to be in Adelaide – we’re really excited to be doing our bit to make the city become even more connected!

World-first safety features in Brisbane

Safety is our top priority so we’re really excited to introduce the world’s first e-scooter Helmet Lock and also an all-new Emergency Button feature!

The app-controlled Helmet Lock secures a safety helmet to the e-scooter, electronically releasing it to use at the start of the trip. This innovative safety feature was designed to make more helmets available to riders. We’re rolling out in Brisbane at the moment, before launching in other cities over the coming weeks.

Helmet Lock was developed after discussions with Brisbane City Council, to improve overall rider safety by ensuring that helmets are more readily available. We know it will be popular with safety-conscious riders, and from an operational perspective, Helmet Lock will also reduce the number of missing and abandoned helmets too.

Also launched is our new Emergency Button feature which sends a notification to the rider’s phone asking ‘Are you alright?’ if the e-scooter detects a fall during a trip. Riders can respond by selecting ‘I’m alright’ or ‘I need emergency assistance’ at the touch of a button. If the latter is selected a call is placed directly to the local emergency services.

With our city partners we are always looking at ways to improve safety so it’s great to come up with these new initiatives.
