Neuron is coming soon to Stirling as part of Perth’s first e-scooter trial!

Our safety-first e-scooters will soon be available to hire in Stirling, a significant inner metropolitan area of Perth, under a 12-month trial.

Neuron’s distinctive orange e-scooters will soon be arriving in Western Australia! We have been selected to operate the first ever rental e-scooter programme in The City of Stirling, located in metropolitan Perth. It will be part of a 12-month trial which is due to start in early 2022.

This marks our first location in Western Australia since amended regulations supporting e-scooters came into effect on 4 December. We were selected for our strong track record of partnering with councils, and for our leadership in safety and innovation. Neuron will invest significantly into the city, creating approximately 30 jobs which will be recruited locally.

Riders will benefit from a range of pioneering safety innovations including: the world’s first app-controlled helmet lock which secures a helmet to every e-scooter in between trips; topple detection; a 000 emergency button; voice guidance to educate and warn riders on how to ride safely; and a ‘Follow my Ride’ function. Geofencing technology will also be used to control where e-scooters can be ridden and parked, and how fast they can travel.

Riders will also benefit from Australia’s first – and only – third party rider liability insurance for e-scooters, in a move to protect and reassure riders as well as the wider community. We look forward to partnering with the City of Stirling to deliver a safe, convenient and environmentally-friendly service!

Neuron kicks off Tasmania’s e-scooter trials with launches in Hobart and Launceston!

Our launches in Hobart and Launceston will create over 50 local jobs and access to a safe and sustainable transport option.

Our distinctive safety orange e-scooters are set to seamlessly join the lives of Tasmanians on their daily commute. A first for the state, the 12-month trial will see Hobart and Launceston roll-out rental e-scooter operations from 17 and 18 December respectively, making micromobility and its many benefits more accessible to the community.

Hobart will host a fleet of 300 Neuron e-scooters on the streets, covering a large area including Hobart City, Cornelian Bay, Mount Stuart, Glebe, Battery Point and Sandy Bay. In Launceston, 200 e-scooters will cover Launceston City, Newstead, Elphin, Invermay, Mowbary and Newham. Neuron will invest significantly into the state, creating over 50 locally sourced jobs across the two cities.

Both cities will benefit from a new, safe, convenient and environmentally-friendly way to travel, as well as a range of pioneering safety innovations. These include the world’s first app-controlled helmet lock which secures a helmet to every e-scooter in between trips; topple detection; a 000 emergency button; voice guidance to educate and warn riders on how to ride safely; and a ‘Follow my Ride’ function. Geofencing technology will also be used to control where e-scooters can be ridden and parked, and how fast they can travel.

Riders will be able to book and use the e-scooters through Neuron’s user-friendly app, which can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play and set up in a matter of minutes. Single trips will cost AU$1 to unlock the e-scooter and 45 cents per minute thereafter. More frequent users have the option to purchase Neuron Passes, a subscription service, available in three-day (AU$25), weekly (AU$33), or monthly (AU$45) options. The packages will allow users to ride as many times as they want for up to 90 minutes per day for a fixed affordable price. This will result in no additional unlocking fees and savings of up to 96%.

We look forward to partnering with the City of Hobart and City of Launceston to deliver a safe and efficient service.

Neuron kick-starts Festive #ScootSafe Campaign with safety videos to reinforce responsible riding!

Our Safety Ambassadors will be out in greater numbers to encourage safe riding over the Christmas and New Year period

With the holiday season fast approaching, we are launching a Festive #ScootSafe campaign across Australia, New Zealand and the UK to remind users to ride safely and responsibly in the lead up to Christmas and New Years Eve. In 2021, Neuron has also organised global safety campaigns for Road Safety Week and Helmet Safety Awareness Week.

ScootSafe events are also coming to a city near you where you could stand to spot Santa and his ‘Safety Elves’ promoting the local riding rules. We’ll also be giving free passes to local charities like The People’s Kitchen, and Sunderland Community Action Group, in the UK to aid their volunteers.

Over the festive period, typically e-scooters are used by more people, some of whom may be less familiar with their local rules and safety guidelines. This can lead to an increase in cases of drinking and riding, bad parking and people not wearing helmets – while not mandatory in New Zealand and the UK, are strongly recommended.

Spot these safety videos on our social media pages and find out how you can #ScootSafe with Neuron!

Neuron e-scooters are now available in more areas across Brisbane

We’re adding more locations to Brisbane’s riding area, extending the range of travel for our riders

From today, our riding area in Brisbane is being expanded, with Neuron’s distinctive orange e-scooters now incorporating the bayside suburbs of Wynnum, Manly, Sandgate and Shorncliffe. With summer coming, these trials will give residents and visitors more options to move around the city and experience the best of Brisbane.

The new areas will provide access to the Manly’s scenic beachfront path, Waterloo Bay Hotel, Wynnum Wading pool and multiple cafes. Riders will also be able to access the popular Shorncliffe scenic path and the Shorncliffe Jetty.

Since arriving on the streets of Brisbane in 2019, our e-scooters have been embraced by locals and tourists alike, racking up over 5.5 million kms.  The expanded riding area will support tourism and connections to public transport and is set to be welcomed by businesses located within the new zones.

We thank the Brisbane City Council and the community for their ongoing support, and look forward to playing a bigger part in their daily commute!
