Rockhampton’s first e-scooter programme, due to start on Thursday February 24, will see a fleet of 300 safety-first e-scooters available to hire throughout the city, including Rockhampton CBD, Depot Hill Wandal, Allenstown and Park Avenue. Our arrival is set to be welcomed by the city, creating a new safe and convenient way to travel between North and South Rockhampton while investing into the city creating 25 jobs, recruited locally.
Over the launch Neuron will be hosting a series of ‘ScootSafe’ briefings, Safety Ambassadors will be assisting new riders with signing up to Neuron’s user-friendly app, and educating riders on top safety guidelines for riding e-scooters. ScootSafe events will be on:
-
- Thursday, February 24, 11am – 3pm, Denham Street
- Saturday 26th February, 12pm – 5pm, Rockhampton Aquatic Centre
- Saturday, March 5, 12pm – 5pm, Kershaw Gardens
- Saturday, March 12, 12pm – 5pm, Fitzroy River Walk.
Neuron’s operations team will be on the ground 24/7 sanitising e-scooters and helmets to keep them clean and germ-free. They will be using hospital-grade disinfectant, approved by The Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), to kill a broad range of bacteria and viruses including COVID-19.
Our latest and safest N3 e-scooters are purpose-built for safety and rental. They are equipped with a range of pioneering safety innovations, including the world’s first app-controlled helmet lock, securing a helmet to every e-scooter in between trips; geofencing control; topple detection; a 000 emergency button; voice guidance to educate and warn riders on how to ride safely; and a “Follow my Ride” function, and more.
Riders will be able to book and use the e-scooters through Neuron’s user-friendly app, which can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play and set up in a matter of minutes. Single trips will cost AU$1 to unlock the e-scooter and 45 cents per minute thereafter. More frequent users have the option to purchase Neuron Passes, a subscription service, available in one-day, three-day, weekly, or monthly options. The packages will allow users to ride as many times as they want for up to 90 minutes per day for a fixed affordable price and no additional unlocking fee.
