Neuron launches safety-first e-scooters in Regina!

We have been selected to provide our safety-first e-scooters in the City of Regina as part of its pilot shared micromobility program

We have been selected by the City of Regina to launch the first e-scooter program in the capital of  Saskatchewan. From June 28, the first of our 250 safety-first e-scooters will be gradually rolled out to cover key areas of the city.

Neuron partners with the Traffic Injury Research Foundation (TIRF) to promote e-scooter safety and research in Canada. Users can visit our online riding school, ScootSafe Academy, for their local riding rules and earn free credits for future rides. Our Safety Ambassadors will also be out in greater numbers at key areas of the city to equip new riders with the confidence to safely ride and park our vehicles.

Neuron’s selection in the city follows a strong track record of partnering with cities, and our leadership and commitment to safety and innovation. Regina is Neuron’s 16th Canadian city and second in Saskatchewan following the company’s recent launch in Saskatoon. Neuron will invest significantly into the city, creating approximately 12 permanent and temporary jobs which will be recruited locally.

Riders will also benefit from a range of cutting-edge safety features including: world’s first integrated helmets (it is legal requirement to wear a helmet); voice guidance; topple detection; a 911 emergency button which detects if a rider has had a fall and then helps them call the emergency services via their smartphone, and a ‘Follow my Ride’ function for added peace of mind. Advanced geofencing technology will also control where e-scooters are ridden and parked, and how fast they can travel in certain areas.

To ride a Neuron, simply unlock and use the e-scooters through our user-friendly app, which can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play and set up in a matter of minutes.
