Following our recent launch in Newcastle, Neuron’s safety-first e-scooters are heading to another city in north-east of England, Sunderland. We look forward to partnering with Sunderland City Council to deliver a safe, socially-distanced and environmentally-friendly service. 

The trial will begin in late March, Sunderland residents will be able to benefit from our leading N3 e-scooter. They are fitted with a range of safety features including: the world’s first app-controlled helmet lock which secures a helmet to every e-scooter in between trips; topple detection; a 999 emergency button; voice guidance to educate and warn riders on how to ride safely; a “Follow my Ride” function; and, the use of geofencing technology to control where e-scooters can be ridden and parked, and how fast they can travel.

Each e-scooter will be fitted with a unique license plate for easy identification and to promote responsible use and we’ll also be launching  a range of ‘smart parking’ initiatives to control and promote safe parking, many of which are a first for the UK.

The trial will see 300 e-scooters deployed over the 12-month trial period with 100 from late March.
