Neuron’s e-scooters and e-bikes will soon be hitting the streets of Christchurch! The first of our e-scooters will be launching in October, followed by e-bikes later in the year. The total fleet will see 800 e-scooters and 200 e-bikes available to hire across 130 square kilometres in the city.

Riders will benefit from a new, safe, convenient and environmentally-friendly way to travel, as well as a range of world-first safety features and pioneering innovations on both the e-scooters and e-bikes. These include the world’s first app-controlled helmet lock which secures a helmet to every e-scooter in between trips; topple detection; a 111 emergency button; voice guidance to educate and warn riders on how to ride safely; and a ‘Follow my Ride’ function. Geofencing technology will also be used to control where e-scooters can be ridden and parked, and how fast they can travel.

New riders can download our user-friendly app, from the App Store or Google Play and set it up in a matter of minutes. A solo trip will cost NZD$1 to unlock the e-scooter and then 45 cents per minute. Our subscription service, Neuron Passes, is also available for frequent riders in three-day (NZD$25), weekly (NZD$33), or monthly (NZD$45) options. Users can ride to their hearts’ content for up to 90 minutes per day for an affordable price, generating savings of up to 96%.
